Linda Fenton

Founder~Ballet



Linda began her dance training with Virginia Tanner at age 3. Then began formal
training at age 8 with Willam F. Christensen and performed nine seasons of The
Nutcracker with The Utah Civic Ballet, the predecessor of Ballet West. Before embarking on a professional career as a dancer she received 4 additional years of training at The University of Utah, as a ballet/modern dance major.

She is an American Ballet Theatre Nationally Certified Teacher, having completed ABT’s National Training Curriculum In New York City – Pre-Primary to Level 6-7 & Partnering. She also trained at Broadway Dance, ABT, Steps on Broadway and Boston Ballet.

In  2013 & 2014 she completed the first RAF (Russian/American Foundation, Inc.)
Bolshoi Academy of Moscow Teacher Training Program in the US. Levels 1-3 & 4-5 curriculum of the Bolshoi Ballet Academy of Moscow. 

In 2015 Linda spent a week at the Royal Ballet of London learning variations and pantomime for The Sleeping Beauty. Studying with illustrious teachers of the Royal Ballet including, Katie Wade and Dame Monica Mason. Being privileged enough to witness Dame Monica Mason set the choreography of the Potion Scene from Romeo and Juliet on a current principal of the Royal Ballet Company. 

She has performed professionally as a member of Actors Equity, in New York and the US. Touring the United States performing in many musicals as a dancer/singer. Having the glorious opportunity to work with many prominent and well known actors of their time: John Raitt, Howard Keel, Jane Powell, Martha Ray, Ruta Lee, and Jimmy Durante to name a few. 


She has also choreographed for Sandy City and The Sandy Arts Guild at the Sandy Amphitheatre. Setting the entire choreography of sold out shows, Peter Pan and Annie.

She founded Dance-A-Demics, an outreach program through Arts Inc., touring Utah elementary schools, for 4 years, illustrating how math and English relate to dance.

At Mountain West Ballet she has been Artistic Director for 13 years. Choreography for MWB includes The Nutracker: Party Scene Dolls, Lead Pages, Snow Queen and King Pas de deux, and the Grande Pas de deux, including dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. Also, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Frog Prince, 12 Dancing Princesses, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland and Coppelia.

She is a Certified Pointe Shoe Fitter for Gaynor Minden, having completed their
requirements in training, for the precise fitting of pointe shoes for all the variations of feet.

Owner and instructor - 43 years.
